MWT CEO, Leigh Morris’ blog covers a second visit to Montserrat, which took place on July 18th to August 5th 2024, to help build horticultural skills on the island and support the delivery of two Darwin projects DPLUS 155 (ending in 2024) and DPLUS192. This trip focused on pest and disease control, plant pruning and reinforcing the plant propagation approaches in the Montserrat National Trust (MNT) nursery. Read Leigh’s blog here

Education Officer, Beth Penhallurick from the Manx Wildlife Trust made her first trip to Montserrat in November 2024. Beth worked closely with the Ministry of Education and Youth Affairs and the Ministry of Agriculture, Lands, Housing, and Environment (MALHE). Together, they discussed enhancing existing environmental education programs and explored new opportunities for cross-territory collaboration. Read Beth’s blog here

Leigh's first blog Montserrat

MWT CEO, Leigh Morris’ blog covers a first visit to Montserrat, which took place in May 2023, to help build horticultural skills on the island and support the delivery of two Darwin projects DPLUS 155 and DPLUS192 a new project which started the previous month. Working with the Montserrat National Trust (MNT) nursery staff and Mr Chris Sealys it developed some processes and undertook some planning on how the nursery could use its limited resources more effectively.
