Several events took place during the project which aimed to promote the projects aims, including to increase understanding of the islands’ unique biodiversity, to link these to potential benefits to the community including ecosystem services and natural capital. 

From Garden to profit

Adopt a Home for Wildlife celebration

The event took place in June 2024. It included an insightfull presentation on medicinal plants by Ms. Jo-Diaz Tye, based on the Trust’s latest Herbal Medicine booklet, which was available to purchase (with all funding going to MNT). It was broadcast on MNT's Facebook page in order for the general public to learn how MNT and partners were transforming Montserrat’s green spaces and how others can contribute to the island’s unique wildlife conservation.The incredible efforts of local Adopters were celebrated at this event as well as speeches from Chris Sealys, Mrs. Carol Osborne, and Mr. Tim Orton.

Booklet Launch

Medicinal Plants Booklet Launch

In January 2023, as part of a project called Hidden Histories the launch of a booklet to showcase 15 medicinal plants from Montserrat , an invitation was extended to Adopters and each were provided with a copy of the booklet. First year of Adopt a Home for Wildlife

The Trust hosted an event to celebrate the successes of the Adopt A Home for Wildlife project by hosting an event for the Adopters and those who have expressed an interest in becoming an Adopter. Project Officers, Delmaude Ryan, Elvis Gerard and Ajhermae White provided insights into the first rounds of baseline surveys including all the information they had learned throughout the year.
