Sites, Survey Results & Management Plans

A first step of the project was to understand the ecology of the site through surveys of plant and invertebrate groups , particularly the presence of non-native invasive species, which is of interest to the landowner. If potentially damaging plant species (according to species lists developed by the Montserrat National Trust informed by earlier work) were found, appropriate actions were suggested, including replacement with native species propagated and suppled by the Montserrat National Trust’s botanic garden.

Management Plans

With the results of the preliminary surveys the team was able to produce a draft management plan, which was then discussed with the Adopters. The plan included the results of preliminary surveys, aspirations for the site and key actions that could be implemented. Read more
